Licence terms
Last updated 19 August 2026
Plain terms for a one-off purchase of a small Mac app. If anything here reads as a trap, tell us — it isn't meant to be one.
What you are buying
A perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Charmling on one Mac, for as long as you like, including every future update at no extra cost. You are not buying the software itself, and you are not buying a subscription — there is nothing recurring.
Changing Macs
Replacing or upgrading your Mac is completely fine. Write to support@charmling.app and we will move your licence. We will not make you buy it twice because your laptop died.
Being offline
Charmling re-checks your licence about once a week so that a refunded or charged-back key stops working. If it cannot reach us — you are offline, behind a firewall, on a plane, or our store is having a bad day — it keeps working for 30 days and then asks you to reconnect. A failed check never deletes your key and never locks you out. Only the store explicitly and repeatedly confirming that a key was refunded ends access.
If Charmling is ever discontinued, we will publish a build that needs no licence check at all, so that what you bought keeps working.
What you may not do
- Share, resell, sublicense or publish your licence key.
- Redistribute the application, modified or otherwise.
- Remove or work around the licence check.
What Charmling writes for you
Recaps, standups, timesheets and quizzes are generated by a small language model running on your Mac. Read them before you rely on them. A model that fits on a laptop produces a solid first draft, not a finished document, and it can be wrong about what you did. Charmling is an aid to memory, not a system of record — do not submit a generated timesheet to an employer, a client or a tax authority without reading it. You remain responsible for anything you send on.
Screen recording and your workplace
Day Memory requires macOS Screen Recording permission, which you grant explicitly. It is your responsibility to ensure that recording your own screen is permitted where you work, and to comply with any obligations you have to your employer or to third parties whose information appears on your screen.
Warranty
Charmling is provided as it is. We have tested it carefully and we use it ourselves every day, but we cannot promise it is free of defects or that it will suit your particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to Charmling is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here affects your statutory consumer rights.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
If you bought as a consumer outside the United States you keep the mandatory protections of your own country, including the statutory right of withdrawal in the EU and the UK. Nothing in these terms takes those away, and we will not ask you to waive them.
Who you are dealing with
Charmling is made and sold by Abi, an independent developer based in Pennsylvania, USA. Payments are processed by Polar as merchant of record, which is why your receipt and your card statement will name them, and why sales tax and VAT are handled on their side rather than ours.
